Our Trip To Venice Italy

My goal on this trip was to try every espresso I could. Not only different espresso brand but also the same espresso brand in different coffee shops. I found some variation on taste and surprisingly variations on preparations. I only found one espresso I liked better then mine. My goal is to tweak mine a bit.

While I have great respect for Mr. Illy his coffee was not impressive. Out of all the coffees I tried I ranked it about half way down the my list. I thought it might have been the shop, but I tried it at a variety of locations.

This is how many coffee shops look. In Venice they are called "bars". These bar also served wine and beer. The "bar" reference to the coffee bar. Most of the shops were very small. What also is interesting that none of the 100 shops or so that we went into had flavored lattes or Italian Sodas. Espresso or cappuccino was about all you got.

This was our hotel for the 7 days we spent in Venice. A riverboat named Venezia. We traveled the Venice lagoon and the Po river. We would highly recommend a river cruise.
